Eclair
I hope you guys are doing well! Tomorrow is the anniversary that Chloe (Eclair) was rescued from BARC by LSBR. I was actually trying to find a copy of her BARC photo and I noticed she is not listed under success stories on the website. I also wanted to send you some new photos of her too. She is never still so its hard to catch her in a good one! Chloe is just under 60lbs. She is stinker, but she is such a sweetheart. She is getting all her shots updated on Wenesday, but as of now she is a healthy girl who loves to run with me and loves to play with other dogs. The last photo attached is of her and my mom's boxer, Zoey. Best friends for sure!

BACCHUS
Just wanted to write a quick note and give all of you folks at LSBR a two-month update on Bacchus.
About a week after we got him we enrolled him into a "doggie boot camp" with a dog trainer here in Corpus. With as strong as he is physically, we needed to get him better with not pulling on the leash. We were a little concerned with sending him of so soon after coming home with us but we figured it was for the better. Ten days later, he came back and was TONS better on the leash. The wife of the dog trainer took a special liking to Bacchus while he was there. When I called for an update (like a crazy parent with a kid at camp), the trainer laughed alot about him, and took to calling Bacchus the "gentle giant."
Two months in and his personality has really started to come through. He enjoys running in the backyard, playing with tennis balls, and chasing birds. He has a strange bird fascination. We found out that he absolutely loves kids. Our neighbor is a K-9 trainer for the military and he brought his kids over to meet Bacchus. They loved him and he loved the attention, especially from the little girl who was shorter than he is, and who hugged his neck so much she was practically hanging from it.
We've started to develop a few nicknames for him, though he will always be Bacchus. I've taken to calling him "Chewbacchus" We also refer to him as big dog, big nasty (when he needs a bath", and frequently (and very descriptively) "buddy"
Thanks again for all of the great work you all do. Through the selfless generosity of the LSBR volunteers, Bacchus found his forever home, and we found our newest family member. Please pas this on to anyone who worked with Bacchus so that they can know how he is doing and how appreciative we are of everything that was done for him.

Fauna (now Rigby)
Hi everyone! My name is Elleminnowpea Rigby Piccolo, but my Mommy & Daddy call me Rigby for short. I just wanted to write to Lone Star Boxer and thank you all for helping me find my forever home. My life is pretty great now, I don’t have to watch my puppies be taken away to be sold anymore and I don’t have to worry about being put in the pound ever again! Nowadays, I get to lay around the house, play with my cat bubba Kimbo and cat sissy Tink. At first I was so shy and timid; I had a fractured pelvic bone from my old life and didn’t know what it meant to have fun. Good thing Mommy & Daddy knew what to do! My parents took me to the vet and introduced me to some puppy pals. My friends have taught me how to play, let loose and have fun like a happy dog should! Now I’m just as goofy and funny as any ol’ Boxer. Because I am so thankful to LSBR, I told Mommy & Daddy that we should do more to help other Boxers find homes. Since they love me so much, they agreed that we should become a Foster Family! Right now my cousin Royal lives with us until someone takes him to his special forever home. Won’t you be that person? Well, that’s it for now! Talk to you soon Lone Star Boxer! Keep up the good work, Hugs and Kisses from Ribgy aka Rigobeeta, Riggy, Riggs, BeBe, Riggispagigi, Beeta, Wigglebutt, Wigglebeeta, Wiggles, Princess and any other silly name my parents can think of :)

J.J.
Update on JJ JJ is the best dog in the WHOLE world. I am so lucky to have had the opportunity to adopt him. JJ instantly became a member of our family. It’s as if he has always been here with us. Libby, Mom’s Afghan, has adopted him as her baby. She cleans his face and even gives up her place on the couch for him. JJ and Reilly still pretty much just stare at each other, but no fights. JJ and H, the Maltese, play in the yard every morning like a couple of little kids play chase. So as for the other dogs, he’s a hit. As for me, JJ is my best friend. He goes everywhere with me. He’s my constant companion even when I sleep. When he rides in my truck, I have a harness so he does not slide around. When I work in the garage, JJ supervises to make sure the work I do is right. When I read, he lays in my lap and I read to him, even though he can’t hear. When I shower, he lays outside the tub patiently waiting. Like I said, he’s my shadow. We have been working with JJ on his crate training and his anxiety. I truly think someone might have left him in a crate for a very long time. He’s gotten so much better and I can even crate him when I go to work without him flooding the crate with drool. For this I’m thankful, because it was really nasty to clean up. I will write more in a few weeks, but wanted to give you an update and thank you again for allowing me the opportunity to be JJ’s human!

Nylah
I just wanted to send an update on Nylah. Things are continuing to go really well for us. In fact, things are going so well that we are searching for a Boxer brother for her. Nylah is great with our children. She checks on them every night before she goes to bed and then checks on them again in the morning. She has done that since the first night that she was with us. She has done really well with basic commands since day one. She will even sit, down, and stay for both of our children, ages 2 and 5. We are beginning agility training next week and we hope that will be a great way to channel some of her Boxer energy. We want to thank Lone Star Boxer Rescue for helping us find the missing piece to our family.
