Stefan (now Maximus)
Stefan (now Maximus)

Stefan has been re-named Maximus! He has made himself right at home with Daisy. Sleeping on the same couch, eating together, playing outside together, walking & running around in the fields together. He loves rides in the car. He is a great eater! He did wonderful with Boomer the cat. They play together all 3 of them. He has a very calm personality. He did great at my office & got lots of love & treats. That is the only reason Daisy likes to go to the office. He enjoys hanging out on the back porch with Daisy in the chair that we have there. They watch the neighborhood life go by & let everyone know they are happy to see them walk by with two short barks. He got a treat from Dennis the mail man who was the first to welcome him home.

So he is happy to have found his home. He is doing really well. We are happy to see that he is comfortable. We will be posting pictures on our facebook page soon & I will do my best to send some your way.

Thanks to Brenda (LSBR foster) for taking such good care of him for us.

SISSY (now Chloe)
SISSY (now Chloe)

We are pleased with our new family member, Chloe, aka Sissy. We got her last March. We already have a schnauzer, Felix, who she gets along with but it was not that way in the beginning! Chloe is a little dominant. I had to nip that in the bud and take her to training at Petsmart and use some Cesar Milan techniques. She is now a good girl and knows her place. She is such a love bug and great with my 6 year old son. She just gives everyone kisses all the time. She also follows me around everywhere through the house. She makes us laugh a lot with all her shenanigans. It was a learning curve in the beginning with Chloe. She has such a high prey drive. She totally pulled a possum through the fence twice from our trashy neighbors yard. I can't believe how strong she is! The neighbors yard is so messy that they are harboring animals. I think she has scared off all the little critters hanging around by now! She also loves Balls! Once she saw some boys playing basketball and ran over to join them. I tell you I think she could make a basket. She can jump so high! We are so lucky to have her and love her a lot. Thank you so much for helping find the right dog for us!

Soccer
Soccer

aka JOKER: Thanksgiving was great, had my 2 kids and 3 grandbabies here and Keith was off so he was able to enjoy it for a change. Joker did fantastic during it all. He rarely EVER counter surfs now and on the rare occasions when he does, he looks for one of us as if to say "I'm up here, am I caught?" We still have the issue of the moaning in the crate for nap or bed yime, but he doesn't bark anymore. Now, we both swear he moans "Momma" LOL He is SUCH a baby and total snuggle hound!! He is walking on the leads now with only the gentle lead and we dont have to bribe him with treats or sneak up on him to put it on. Today, Keith picked up the lead and Joker sat facing him while he put it on!! He has made some remarkable changes and we are so happy with him. We went out of town Dec 5,6,7 and had to board them. (We found a fantastic boarding facility right down the road called Prestonwood Kennels) I was really worried how Joker would take this so we asked for the additional "rub a tummy" time for additional cost. This is where the workers will go in 2 times a day for 15 mins and love on them and spend time in the kennel. They give written reports to you when you check out and Jokers all said he was the sweetest baby!! And when we picked them up, 3 workers HAd to come say bye to Joker and made us promise to bring him back!! Thats our baby!!! I can't imagine life without this sweet loving "goofy" dog in it. He has won our hearts and is a precious addition to our family! God Bless Ann Callan, you, and everyone at LSBR for sticking with us until we found our perfect baby. And to anyone who is passing by all of the deaf dogs.....don't be crazy! Yes, Joker can't hear, but our other dog helps him with some things (like ringing doorbellls and sirens) And besides, he makes up for it in a loads of personality and tons of love and kisses! Whenever you want to visit, just call to be sure we are home and stop in anytime!! Boxer Love To All!! Cindy, Keith, Skeeter and Joker

SKYE
SKYE

It will be a year in two weeks that we adopted Skye from LSBR. She is such a big part of our family now and is absolutely the sweetest dog ever. We have a Great Dane that we adopted from another rescue group one month before Skye was adopted and they immediately became the best of friends. Our kids (6yrs and 9yrs) love those dogs and they return the love back to them in so many ways. Thank you LSBR! Jennifer Elwood

SYDNEY
SYDNEY

I wanted to give you the update on Syd, and let you know how she is interfacing with the Rock-Dog. (Why Rock-Dog? This dog ROCKS!) Sydney is doing great. She is having a blast destroying my backyard, tearing through the trash, and stealing my ball caps and putting them in the pool! Whoever said this pup was 2, as indicated in her medical records, needs to go back to school! My vet (and I agree) that she is about 11 months old! Of course, with all her faults, she is completely delightful! She has such a personality that makes her hard to resist. When she gets sleepy, her muzzle turns pink. When I talk to her sweetly, she blushes! He muzzle turns pink! She sleeps in her "box", and goes into it freely, even when not told to. Rocky, on the other hand, has changed fundamentally. He was quite the "free-spirit" before Sydney arrived. What a surprise! Rocky has morphed into the "Alpha Dog" and is so completely calm and protective of everything. He looks after the kids, and is very conscious of Syd. I cannot believe how attached they are! It is almost like they are soul mates, as there is never one without the other. They are a great pair! Rocky is the "Master of All He Surveys" and Sydney is the one who is always in trouble! She knows when we get on to her, and then she goes to her bed in the bedroom. Rocky knows when she is in trouble and doesn't follow her. He acts like he punishes her, too! After a while, she comes out of the bedroom and asks for forgiveness, and of course, all is well. Rocky has grown to almost 85 pounds of muscle, and even Syd has put on a pound or two. We walk (I am dragged). Not nearly as much as I want to, but we have big yard. She is almost housebroken now, and I have Rocky to thank for that. He lets her know when it is time to go "Outside". We have had only a few accidents in the house, and not on the rugs, thankfully. (Hardwood floors with a LOT of lacquer!) All in all, we are very satisfied with both of them. Their dispositions are completely amiable. They are true Boxers. Both of them are eager to please, easily shamed, and delightfully included within our family. Syd has a few things to master to be the perfect daughter, but for now, her massive tongue and playful disposition make up for any of her mischievous acts! She makes it extremely hard for me to take her too seriously! You guys have done an exceptional job with these incredible dogs. We are so impressed with your organization. Again, thank you for your dedication and due diligence. It is much appreciated. Rocky had been such a relief for us since Tex passed away. If any animal could replace Tex, Rocky has done an excellent job of filling Tex's size 20 shoes--I didn't think that would be possible. While Rocky is not Tex, he sure has done a great job of easing the pain. We still miss Tex terribly. Yes, we have discussed it privately, Rocky AND Syd, as a couple, are not only entertaining, they are a completion of our family. We couldn't picture our home without them. Rocky has matured incredibly, and Syd has tried desperately to fit into his mold. All in all, they are a great couple and we are happy to have them. Derek
